Our client was a passenger in a motor vehicle that was making a left hand turn out of a side street onto a main road. The car she was a passenger in was struck by a vehicle that was already traveling on the main road. Our client suffered injuries to her back and both knees, which required surgery. Both insurance companies contested liability. We filed a lawsuit against the operator and owner of the other vehicle, the operator (and her employer) of the vehicle in which our client was a passenger. We reached a settlement with the other owner/operator for the full policy limits of $20,000.00 while continuing litigation against the operator (and her employer) of the vehicle our client was a passenger in. Ultimately, before trial, the claim settled for an additional $100,000.00, bringing the total recovery to $120,000.00.
